The GEISER final conference was held on the 30th and 31st of May, 2013 at "Sala del Capitolo, Convento di San Domenico Maggiore, Vico San Domenico Maggiore" in Napoli, Italy.
The final conference was intended to share our results not only with each other but also with the rest of the world. Participation of other scientists, experts, interested parties was welcome and contributions from non-GEISER participants were explicitly encouraged. A number of invited speakers and international and overseas contributors were present , including Stephen Hickman (USGS), Bill Foxall (Lawrence Berkeley Natl. Labs), Nick Davatzes (Temple Univ., USA), Roland Gritto (ARRY Infotec, USA), Heinz Holl (Geodynamics, Australia), Hiroshi Asanuma (Tohoku University, Japan), Luz Antonina Barrios Martinez (LaGeo, El Salvador), Chris Bromley (GNS Science, New Zealand), Albert Genter (GEIE Soultz-sous-forêts), Steve Miller (Uni Bonn/Germany) and Serge Shapiro (FU, Berlin).
Following our project structure, presentations to the conference programme was organized in four subtopics:
- seismic analysis;
- mechanical understanding;
- hazard assessment;
- mitigation strategies.
